The weekend was a lesson in "going with the flow," a reminder that Robert Burns was right about best-laid plans...
We kicked the weekend off with dinner at Sam's, as planned, but then on Saturday things got a bit topsy turvy, as Bryan and I were supposed to go on an overnight adventure for our couples book club (don't laugh), but that plan fizzled at the last minute. So, in an effort to retain some semblance of reliability (we are massive flakes of late), he went solo (yes, to the couples overnight book club), and the girlies and I eked out adventure of our own.
Said adventure included pasta and movies and girlfriends and chocolate cake and art...
Clearly we made the most of the situation. I missed my hubs, but we had fun on our impromptu mother/daughter date, I'm not gonna lie.
Hope your weekend was splendid friends!

The Modern!!! You were literally two minutes from my house. Love that place. David and I would go so much more often if we could. I actually just saw the new Mickey statue on Monday and though "It's really about time that I went back there".
Looks like you ladies had a fabulous time!
Where did you find those black sandals? They are super cool.
An impromptu date sounds perfect. Happy mothers day from England ;)
And on the subject of turning 40 have you seen the film...this is 40? x
