We got our first officially chilly fall weather this weekend resulting in some major cozy zone goodness.
The sweaters and jackets and scarves came out of hiding, there was much frolicking at our neighborhood Oktoberfest, a big pot of (amazing) boeuf bourguignon at Janet and David's house, oh and pie, lots of pie...starting with Janet's apple and ending with the two pieces that Millie and I tucked into for lunch (!) on Sunday (we were throwing caution to the wind).
I just wish some of that cozy goodness from the weekend would've carried over into this week. The past two days have been less than stellar, with all sorts of bummer happenings and mishaps (including, but not limited to, retreating to the bathroom at work for a cry only to accidentally dip the hem of my skirt in the toilet mid-sniff).
But tomorrow's a new day, and things can only go up, right? And if not, I suppose there's always more pie.

Oh yes, it can only go up! Thinking of you Joslyn, eventhough I'm not writing often :)
Thank you for sharing all these bits of your life. Happy new day and happy October! xx
I've had a similar "retreating to the bathroom for safety" moment. Your blog is always beautiful and inspiring. Living in a place with only one season, I experience fall through blogs your blog every year. Thank you. Hang in there! A better day is around the corner.
Oh no! Not the toilet. Cyber hugs to you. I had such a shitty day today that I almsot broke down crying in the middle of my studio with my two assistants there and I was bugg'n big time. I had to drive home to cry.
I hope tomorrow is a much better day for you (and for me, highfive)
Your friend's backsplash is amaaaaaaazing
Hoping your week gets better!!!
Ugh - I hope things are on the up. Best, Annie x

pie makes everything better! sending good thoughts your way. and i cannot wait to get the first D moms in the mail. so excited!
i actually think awesome weekends set you up. coming off an awesome weekend and encountering a plain/bad week is hard.
It's actually not so bad when the weather turns cold, eating comfort foods like pies and homemade soups is such a treat and it's great snuggling up in blankets with your family. We have a great fireplace at home. p.s. that pie looks amazing!
Oh dear... I hope things are looking up for you now. That photo of Millie singing is precious, by the way!
