The 6th edition of my friend Allison V. Smith's beautiful zine.
By all accounts, it was a mellow, restorative, productive weekend...
We spent a lot of time splashing around in the pool, thumbing our nose at the heat, in between collectively cleaning out our desks (Audrey's idea -- the apple didn't fall far from the tree with that one with her fondness for a good closet/desk/drawer purge, which, I'm not gonna lie, warms the cockles of my heart). We also went a bit nuts with spray paint, resulting in the assorted white and gold flotsam and jetsam seen above. (That chunk of driftwood was such a beast that it required Bryan and me to take turns spraying it, and we may have been a little bit dazed and confused from the fumes when we were done. It wasn't pretty... )
When we weren't otherwise being productive, we were cooking...and eating, but not sweets (never fear). We had friends over for dinner on Friday and Sunday, which involved more pool action + noshing on grilled pork loin, corn, homemade salsa, salad and other produce heavy goodness.
I'm counting on all those antioxidants to somehow counter the copious noxious fumes...too far fetched? Next time I'll go with a mask! Hope your weekend was splendid (and spray paint free) friends.

Great shots. Loving your dress and gorgeous necklace. Thought of you this weekend as we were busy painting rocks. Love the spray paint DIY (I happen to love toxic fumes...don't ask) with the driftwood...giving me some good ideas. Except the city doesn't sell spray paint b/c of graffiti so we have to travel to the suburbs..yikes!

P.S. Speaking of homemade salsa, you have to try my mango salsa recipe! http://urbanchiqueness.com/chique-recipe-mango-salsa/
Who are the dress and necklace by? Also--thanks for the NorCal props in recent posts. I live here and need a reminder once in a while about what a great place it is ;-)
It was very hot, but instead of being out in it I too did lots of purging...something so wonderful about the bags lined up for Purple Heart to be swept away and being left a lot lighter. Wishing you a great week! -Love that dress by the way.
Jen -- the dress is from No. 6 store...bought on my trip to NYC last summer. I made the necklace ;-)

Sounds like a delightful weekeend! Would love to hear more about the homemade salsa....
Love it all! What color is that spraypaint?

The spray paint is a gold from Michaels called "24K"...it's a good true gold rather than a bronze or rose gold. it's pretty fun stuff and only $7 a can. The white is just a plain matte white. Basic variety.

I'll see if Bryan can cobble together a salsa recipe to share...he was kind of winging it ;-)
I love all these sun infused details - they speak of a slow and relaxed weekend.
