Some Scenes From The Weekend...

a sneak peek at the gorgeous new Calypso Home in Dallas...

Given the chaos of last week and today's continued aftermath (they are still ripping up the floors...sigh), the weekend was really pretty great.

We kicked things off Friday evening with a quick pop into the new Calypso Home (which is spectacular...more on that later) followed by dinner at Taco Diner, some Sprinkles action (we needed a pick me up) and then back home to watch the Royal Wedding at Audrey's insistence. The child was obsessed. I kept offering to forward through the slower parts, but she wanted to watch every second, fixated on the details and taking copious notes (!) in her little journal. I have no idea what she plans to do with said notes, but she was quite thorough.

The whole scene was totally unexpected, as Audrey is my practical one. She has massive disdain for princesses and pink and anything seemingly (in her mind) frivolous. So her keen interest in what felt a bit like a Disney movie come to life was a bit out of left field. But I have to say, it was awfully fun to experience it with her.

Then on Saturday, we hosted a small party for our friends Buck and Camp to celebrate Camp's show at Webb Gallery. It was a pretty cozy affair...tamales, tequila tasting and a group of really interesting, creative, altogether lovely folks (some of my nearest and dearest and many that we hadn't met prior to the party). + they all kindly overlooked the fact that half of my house was a disaster zone...so success, yes?

And finally the girlies had their ballet recital on Sunday evening, and despite Audrey's immense chagrin over the fact that she had to don a tight bun and stage make-up (according to her, make-up is "totally gross"...Millie, on the other hand, was in heaven), it was loveliness.

Which is a good thing as I need a bump to get me through the potentially sadness inducing combo of non-stop pouring rain and "house destruction 2011".

Happy Monday friends...Hope your weekend was fantastic!

Oh and p.s. the winner of the sweet Kit + Lili dress is Hayley. Congrats!

It sounds magical, except for the "ripping up the floors" part. I can't wait to read more about Calypso Home it looks stunning in there.

You get a Calypso Home in Dallas? Jealous!

I'm so sorry about the home destruction zone. It sounds like you are really handling it with some serious grace. I've been through that before and it was awfully hard to muster up the grace.

And the 9th photo? My absolute favorite.

I love ballet costumes. I should have been a ballerina, but, alas, my first and only ballet class was a p.e. elective in college. And I was awful.

I am so thrilled to receive that Kit & Lili dress! My daughter, who turns 3 on Friday [when did that happen???] is going to flip. She is a total princess, girly girl and all about pretty dresses.

She is starting ballet in July and already wears her ballet dress and slippers on a regular basis.
Thanks again!
Cheers!
