This house above from the latest Rue completely knocked my socks off. It's this sort of perfect mix of Big Sur meets Brutalist meets (super warm) Modern...and that big white sectional is such a good foil for all the massive organic wood.
So, so good.
Next up... I loved seeing these iterations of my beloved Chance striped "dress" in their (v. fun) portrait series.
And after seeing how cool Brooke Williams looks in that second photo, I'm seriously wishing I had the guts to actually wear it as a dress...
The three contenders...

The three contenders...
And a closer look...
And last but not least, I'm happy to report that I've decided to officially make lemonade out of lemons and use the "great flood of 2011" as an excuse to change up a few things in the house that I've long loathed. Most exciting is the Travertine floor that will replace the really unfortunate developer tile in our entry, bar area and laundry room. This switcharoo alone is (almost) worth the nightmare that this whole experience has been.

Other fun tweaks include new paint for the den, as I've been itching to kick that burnt orange to the curb for a couple of years. We're currently marinating over the finalists above...
Any votes?? I know they're all so drastically different ;-)

the middle one! good luck. i find picking paint colors an extremely difficult task!
I vote for the middle one as well.
I just want to point out I got The Devil Wears Prada nod... :) And I vote for the one on the right.
Be bold! Go with the darkest one! If you need inspiration Abigail over at http://abigailahern.wordpress.com/ writes about dark walls a lot.
If the darkest one is a warm tone (compared to that orange, it's tough to know), definitely go with that. Otherwise, I pick the middle.
top middle!
The middle!
I actually really like the darkest one! It looks like it'd be really warm-feeling and comfortable. It looks like the middle is most popular, though!
I think I'm loving the middle.
I think I'd get a piece of white posterboard or foamcore and try the swatches on that before deciding. You can tack that to the wall to see how the lighting in the room affects the color without that orange paint distorting what the colors will really look like.
I think I like the one on the right, but I agree with patti above in that it's pretty hard to tell against that (very very bold) orange. You totally should try them against white to see them without distractions. And what a wonderful opportunity to make some changes in the home! Love making lemonade :)

I like the top right and the bottom left the best!

Don't go with the darkest one unless your room has TONS of outside light coming in! I put a dark gray in my bedroom and I liked it a lot...before I rehung the curtains. Now it feels like a cave :( My vote is the lightest!
This makes two of us in the midst of paint selection. Though ours is not due to a flood. But still a grande pain in the butt to pack up the entire house.
Worth it though, yes? I say far right. The middle looks at bit green. Or is that just the orange talking?
good luck!
Middle... I painted our entire house BM Pashmina this winter... loved it until the tree's that cascade over our house greened up... now it feels so dark...
Love those colors! We decided to go with Benjamin Moore Rocky Coast for our entry/dining/study and we really love it. Now we just have to finish the job! Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Go darkest (top left). I always go with the darker color. You won't regret it.
