The weekend was all (well mostly) about quiet moments. It was a mellow enterprise, plans were sparse and easy, and we spent a lot of time puttering around the house. I cleaned out my little office nook a bit, got caught up on my 30 Rock viewing and did laundry...lots of it. (Which only bears mentioning because upon folding my 4th load of towels, I realized that I actually really like doing laundry.)
But don't tell my husband I told you that.
Similarly the girlies were able to laze about a bit. We discovered that old Looney Toons episodes make them belly laugh (Audrey is quite the fan of slap stick), that Millie is obsessed with lining up silverware (hmm...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree), and that you can while away the better part of an hour laying on your back in the grass watching the wind blow through the trees.
It was good stuff friends.

Audrey's snaps...
Audrey and I did have a bit of a date on Saturday night when we attended our first Bat Mitzvah (and a very cool one at that...) for a little writing assignment that I'm working on. Audrey was my photo assistant, snapping shots of all the cool details to trigger my memory when I sit down to write the actual piece.
I couldn't have had a better date in Audrey. She was so funny and cool and just, well a pleasure to be with. Plus she's really rockin the camera of late. That first shot...no idea when she took it or what the light situation was, but cool, yes? Oh and the photos of the shoes... she's a little Garance in the making. Love it.

Your home is so inspiring!! I love the picture of your daughters room...so sweet with the owl lamp and the decal! It looks perfect and not too overwhelmingly girly. With two girls you can be consumed with so much pink everywhere!! I love the green. And how cute that you have a little photographer in the making :)
First of all, your shoes are killing me! I love your stories, yours kids are incredibly cute.
FUN!!! smiles...
in love with the owl lamp.
are you a canon or a nikon girl? and do you let audrey sport your "real camera? ava, my 5 1/2 year old loves taking pictures also but I'm a bit scared to have her schlepping around my big cannon...
Stephanie -- our main camera is a Nikon...it's a bit of a beast, but I let audrey use it occasionally. If we're out and about, she uses our smaller Lumix.
p.s. -- the owl lamp is from west elm!
Welcome to the world of laundry lovers! There is nothing more satisfying than washing then drying then folding (I tend to leave out the ironing)... :)
thanks for the info on the owl lamp. we are re-doing our girlies' rooms right now--putting them in one together (!) and making the other a play/reading room--so i'm in the market for a new lamp (among other things!) =)
yes, my canon is a beast too!
Aawww, I love that she was your photo assistant! So cute. I adore that decal too!!!
where is Audrey's blog {wink}?? love her pics... especially #1
Those. Shoes. Are. Fierce.
I love the little peek into your house, and particularly the arrangement of frames in the one photo.
Can you come to my house and fold laundry? Pretty please?
I'm going to get my haircut like Millie... Maybe even her hair color too. Just saying
Now that's what I call a weekend! Love the silverware and wind-blowing-through-trees moments the best :)
