Austin!!!

Yes, three exclamation points...I love Austin that much.

In fact, if not for the sweltering Texas summers (are you tired of me talking about how hot it is in Texas yet?), it might even be my favorite U.S. city. I'm a fan.

So needless to say, I'm pretty psyched that Bryan, the girlies and I are headed down for a little Austin fix this weekend...

On the agenda (besides of course visiting buddies and just generally lazing about, which is particularly fun in Austin...):

Staying at the St. Cecilia -- Though my heart will always belong to the San Jose, I can't wait to check this place out. Audrey is especially excited about the fab little pool and the giant white peacock...

Hitting up Renegade Craft Fair (the original impetus for the trip)... I am so, so excited that Renegade is finally making its way to Texas. Can't wait to see all the goods, as the line-up of artists (including the über talented Ms. Christine) looks totally fantastic...

+

Celebrating the aforementioned Christine's birthday on Sunday with pool-side drinks at the St. Cecilia before heading to Renegade. (Yes, we'll be drinking in the morning...it's Austin people.)

Checking out Spartan and Bows and Arrows (this is at the tippy top of my list, as Spartan is pretty much my dream shop...and they have a nice hefty new shipment of Clare Vivier totes on the shelves. I'm just sayin.)

Tacos at Guero's, Mexican vanilla ice cream (with strawberries and pecans) at Amy's and coffee at Jo's. Oh and there's also snow cones at Zilker Park for the girlies... we eat a lot in Austin. (Who am I kidding, we eat a lot everywhere...)

Friday afternoon can't come soon enough!

  14. Sounds like the perfect weekend. Enjoy it. And of course you must eat your way through Austin, and every other city...there is no other way to go. At least not for us!

  15. Oh I'm going to tell my sister to move to Austin, she isn't enjoying the weather in Seattle much. Austin sounds a lot more like Sydney in its culture and weather.
    Have a great day

  18. I've always wanted to visit Austin - I think I would dig it. Wonder if I'll ever find an excuse to get there. I'd love to go to the SXSW music festival one of these days. One day. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously. Enjoy a fabulous weekend!

  22. oh dear, another reason to evy you. I love, no wait, L.O.V.E Austin, we would live there now, like beam ourselves there if our families didn't live here. The heat, ok, yes, it is so hot that last year when I was there I cried, but hey, I can get used to it, right? right?

  23. Can I tag along? I love Austin but haven't experienced enough of it. I've been down twice for sxsw, which skewers the experience completely. Your trip sounds AMAZING. Not only does the fact that it's Austin mean drinking in the morning - but it's vacation. Drink all day long! Have fun!

  24. I am from Dallas, but I loved getting to live in Austin for a couple of years. We just moved back to Dallas, and it just made me a little "Austin-sick" to see those pictures of my favorite places. I would walk by Hotel St. Cecilia all the time just to be inspired by its style. Enjoy Spartan/Bows & Arrows, Jo's & Zilker. Such a good getaway!

  31. I love Austin too! I'm blessed enough to call it home but that means that I haven't gotten to stay at St. Cecilia or the San Jose. I hope you have a great trip!

  32. Hope you have a wonderful stay here in Austin! How lucky that you get to enjoy a couple of nights at the St. Cecilia; it's so lovely & tranquil that it's almost enchanted feeling. I've got to second that suggestion that you hit Torchy's Tacos. If you're into shrimp, that one's my favorite.
