Per my own prescription for happiness, I have to say, it was a pretty darn good weekend.
We took the girlies to the Nasher on Saturday, so there was "seeing art", then later that afternoon, Audrey and I cranked up some classic jazz and made a slew of valentines for her class...
And while I didn't cook any spectacular meals, I did partake in my dear friend Julie's incredibly good seafood gumbo while watching the Saints win their first ever Superbowl.
So happy-makers all around.
Oh and there's also the matter of the nails. One of the items I put on my 2010 "list" (I aim high here friends) was to paint my nails (dark) red. Daring, no? Bryan and I went to Audrey's (James Bond themed) school auction on Saturday evening where I dressed up as a "villain," which clearly necessitated edgy nails. I felt pretty rockin all weekend -- it's amazing what a few few swipes of nail polish can do...

It's amazing the power a good manicure has in making us feel good about ourselves. I gave myself a manicure yesterday using a color I'm currently obsessed with: Rescue Beauty Lounge in 'Stormy'.

I think it's fantastic that you take your girls to so many amazing places! I also painted my nails a dark color (black) a few months ago and it really makes you feel bold in other aspects as well!

I peek at your blog whenever I get homesick for Dallas. I moved to DC last year and we are covered in snow with more on the way this afternoon...I have no idea when we'll see anything green again, so seeing the beautiful green grass in your photos made me happy/sad. So with you on the nails. My fav is Chanel Rouge Noir and I'm planning on painting them tomorrow evening in readiness for when my Huzz returns from a week long trip - he loves the nails dark and I haven't done them for ages.
Your little girl is just gorgeous. I know what you mean about having a love affair with her, I am besotted with my 17 month old daughter right now.

I love dark nails! I go through stages with them...sometimes I like them more then others....the nail has to be perfectly shaped to make it truly amazing...like yours ;)
