The weekend was good and busy! We had a great (albeit incredibly sweaty) time at the White Rock Local Market where I scored a vintage school chair for $5 (seen in the last two photos below), and lovely cousin Erin bought all the produce for her dinner that night.
We then we hit up the craft store for materials to do summer project #1. In just a couple of hours, Erin, Audrey and I managed to turn out five pretty groovy (if I do say so myself) wood bead necklaces. We used a combination of fabric and macrame string for a couple and some cute lavender suede string for Audrey's creations. It was such a success that Audrey and I made a couple more necklaces on Sunday using fabric scraps that my new friend Lucia used to wrap a lovely gift she gave me the night before.
Speaking of my new friend Lucia, she and her delightful family (Peter, Eva and Felicity) came for dinner Saturday night, and the four girlies became fast friends, swimming in the blow-up pool and jumping off furniture in the house (instigated by my girls of course... I have wild boys inside my two seemingly sweet and innocent daughters!)
How was your week-end?

Oh I LOVE these necklaces...yours and the girls! Will you sell them? What a great weekend!
Ours was filled with lots of indulging in delicious summertime food from the Farmer's Market! Ripe peaches that just dripped their yummy juices all over our chins and hands....yum!
Groovy indeed!
We had a soggy weekend...but still managed to pick basil and cilantro and blueberries and make pancakes.

I love how the necklaces turned out. There is one very similar that I have been eying for a while at cabana, but now that I've seen yours, I might just make my own. Thanks for the inspiration.
Lucy -- definitely make your own...so easy + so much more fun to wear since you made it! I'm planning to stop by Cabana soon to say hi!
