So many lovely activities to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend… And the best part? Having my mother in town to celebrate with.
Audrey and I baked homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies on Saturday, which we then proceeded to gorge on all weekend, then we went to a roller skating birthday party (her first) where she generously let me skate with her.
It was total nostalgia…the skating rink was exactly like all the ones I went to for countless birthday parties as a kid -- same old ratty skates, same disco ball, same 80’s music and couples skate… All that was missing was one of those long red licorice ropes and the bin of giant atomic fire balls at the snack bar.

Next up a fun/adventurous Saturday evening dinner with Julie and Tim…our dearest. I tried my hand at fresh Vietnamese rolls, which was only mildly successful, but Julie’s pot stickers were killer and we had lots of wine, so all was good.
On Sunday, we enjoyed a lovely mother’s day brunch at one of our favorite spots, followed by sweet handmade drawings from the girls + the bike basket AND the necklace from hubby.
Then there was a little one-on-one afternoon shopping trip with my mom. (I’ll report on the results of that on Wednesday’s spending update/confession post... Don’t worry, it’s not that bad.)
And finally Sunday dinner with lovely cousin Erin and boyfriend Ben -- skirt steak with Ben’s killer chimichurri sauce and homemade potato chips with Erin’s equally killer cilantro mayo dip.
Hope you all had a most excellent weekend!

Sounds awesome! Our kids are still young enough that it's mainly management (messes, fights, restaurant patrol), but they made me sweet gifts and I am truly grateful.

What sort of earrings, if any, are you wearing with the Urban Outfitters necklace? I just got one for my third anniversary (leather). Just curious.

i wear the same pair of earrings every single day. a tiny pair of diamond studs that my husband gave me for our anniversary. i haven't taken them off in 5 years.
i'm pretty boring ;-)
