Highlights from SF Part Two – Heath Factory…Oh My

Sad admission coming up before I visited the Heath factory store in Sausalito, I, well, pretty much had fantasies about visiting the Heath factory store, which generally consisted of me walking into a room filled with loads of gorgeous, deeply discounted ceramics and happening upon exactly what I was looking for...

I'm happy to report (in this rare case) the reality was far better than anything I could have envisioned in advance... The factory store is pretty. freakin. awesome. I'll spare you any more effusive fawning and get right to the photos.*

*Lisa and Leslie kindly indulged my geekiness, as I took about a hundred pictures of the joint.

Here are a view tidbits from Heath's History and Values that I especially love:

Edith Heath founded Heath Ceramics with a strong social point of view about the products her company made - simple, good things for good people...

Our goal is to produce a product that will resist trends and be loved and functional over your lifetime, even passed on to the next generation. To us, this is the definition of good design and is the reason some of our products have been in continuous production for over 60 years. In a society that has become accustomed to a very short life for most products, our goal is the opposite. We take pride in longevity of our ware and tile, and design new colors and styles to complement existing collections, not replace them.

So for one quick moment, I thought I read that you were at the "Health" Factory and got a little worried.

Now I see that you were at the exact opposite of such a place...more like the Heaven Factory! SWOON! Did you leave with any goodies?!
