I'm especially fond of a vintage piece, as it lends a bit of history and a smidge more romance to an already swoon-worthy offering.

you're so right. i don't remember who said "character is better than carats" and i'm pretty sure the statement was about men (eek!)...but i think it also applies to sparklies!
